Hey there fellow readers! My name is Eshita Singh and I am a rising senior at Duke University studying Neuroscience. Apart from burying in science books, I love to teach and work with students of all ages. I dedicate every summer to teaching a different subject before I attend medical school. This is how I came across Duke Engage Durham-Durham.
I work with YES Consortium, an organization focused on promoting financial literacy. This summer, I am working with Camp Slam and Camp Connect and possibly Camp Calvary. At Camp Slam, I work 1st to 3rd graders by teaching them about personal finance and how companies are run. At Camp Connect, I work with high schoolers by teaching them about personal finance, the stock market, and entrepreneurship. At the end of the Camp, the students are going to particpate in their very own Shark Tank Project. The students will present their own project idea to a panel of judges, just like on the show Shark Tank!
Besides from teaching, I have been to so many places around Durham thanks to Duke Engage! I have been entrapped in the Duke bubble, and I have not successfully escaped in my 3 years at Duke. Over the past 3 weeks, I have been to Washington Duke's homestead, the Durham Co-Op, volunteered at the Mobile Food Drive, participated
